Picking the perfect floor for your room.
Are you keeping the existing floor covering or are you able to replace it?THink about what the room is use for and consider each of the following in turn.
How warm is your planned flooring? Do you like to walk about barefoot? Will you have underfloor heating? Do you have young children who'll want to play on the floor a lot? You'll need something warm, hardwearing and easy to clean.
Safety of the flooring - shiny floors and loose rugs might prove tricky for the older person. Non-slip underlays avoid rug slippage though.
Noise of the floor - will it be noisy to walk on, will you annoy the people underneath? Is there anything in your lease perhaps that restricts you having bare floorboards?
Existing floor - if you have a proper floor underneath, wooden floor boards ror parquet flooring you might want to reveal it and if necessary restore it.
